A prominent figure in the field of law, Mr. Green has served as the president of his own law firm, Harland N. Green, Professional Corporation, in Beverly Hills, CA, for the past 46 years. He began his professional career as an accountant at J. Arthur Greenfield & Company, CPA, in Los Angeles, CA, in 1956, where he remained for two years before becoming an associate attorney at Rosenthal & Green and various predecessor companies. He was promoted to a partner three years later and stayed with the firm for an additional seven years before starting up his own private practice. He has also served as the vice chairman on the board of trustees for the Southern California chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, as well as an elder of the Ahavat Zion Synagogue.
Mr. Green earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1951, where he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence two years later. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a first lieutenant from 1954 to 1956 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Reserves immediately thereafter, during which time he was admitted to practice law in the state of California. He went on to obtain a Master of Laws in taxation from the University of Southern California in 1962 and was admitted to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court the following year.
Apart from his professional titles, Mr. Green has contributed several articles to the UCLA Law Review and has been an active member of numerous organizations related to his field, including the American Association of Attorney-CPAs, the Los Angeles Copyright Society, and Phi Beta Kappa. He also is a founding friend of the Center of Achievement for the Disabled, California State University, Northridge, and The Order of the Coif, among others. He has also been honored with several awards from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, including being named Most Valuable Trustee and Outstanding Trustee of the Southern California chapter, and earning a Lifetime Achievement Award. He is listed in several editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law.
