Peter Raymond Schneider received the Julia Lathrop Award from the American Criminal Justice Association.

With more than 45 years of professional experience, Dr. Schneider was the chief executive officer of IPA International, Inc., a contracting firm specializing in defense intelligence, from 1995 to 2007. Prior to obtaining this role, he was the president of the Institute of Policy Analysis from 1992 to 1995, having previously held the position from 1976 to 1983. From 1986 to 1989, he was the director of the justice division of the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, having been a senior research scientist with the organization from 1984 to 1992.
Dr. Schneider was the vice president of the National Partnership in 1985, director of the Center for Assessment of Juvenile Justice Programs in 1983, and vice president of the American Justice Institute in 1983. He previously served as an assistant professor with the University of Oregon from 1974 to 1976. Dr. Schneider began his career as a news writer with the Baltimore News-American newspaper from 1962 to 1965 and the Associated Press in 1962, having been courthouse reporter for the Northern Virginia Sun newspaper from 1961 to 1962.
Dr. Schneider pursued an education with Oklahoma State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1966 and a Master of Science in 1968. He later earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Indiana University in 1974. A contributor of numerous articles to professional journals and chapters to books, he has been a member of the American Political Science Association, the American Restitution Association, Pi Sigma Alpha, Sigma Delta Chi, Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Kappa Theta.
Throughout his career, Dr. Schneider has been honored for his contributions, including having received the Julia Lathrop Award from the American Criminal Justice Association. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Politics, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in the World.
