Dr. Stephen Malik Mansour is an adjunct professor of mathematics and statistics at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Mansour is an adjunct professor of mathematics and statistics at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. Teaching on campus since 2008, he formerly worked in the field for more than 25 years. Serving as a consultant for The Carlisle Group in Scranton between 1996 and 2008, he was also a computer programmer for Security APL in Jersey City, NJ, from 1994 to 1996 and a programmer/statistician for IBM Corporation in East Fishkill, NY, from 1982 to 1994.
Prior to attending college, Dr. Mansour was employed as a printer with Tyler Business Services in Washington, DC, from 1971 to 1972. He then entered the military, serving his country as a Yeoman First Class for seven and a half years in the U.S. Coast Guard. While serving in the 14th Coast Guard District Office in Honolulu Hawaii, he organized boating safety violations into what is now known as a relational database. Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics soon thereafter, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley in 1981. Years later, he completed a Master of Science in statistics and operations research at Union College in 1992 and a Doctor of Philosophy in industrial engineering at Lehigh University in 2012.
During his career Dr. Mansour has contributed multiple articles to various journals and was responsible for the development of TamStat, a statistical program written in APL, a very powerful programming language.
Dr. Mansour is currently a member of the IASE (International Association of Statistical Education) and a former member of the American Statistical Association, the Association of Computing Machinery and the chairman of the SIGAPL (Special Interest Group on APL) conferences in 1999 and 2003. He recently became a Silver Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League and was previously active in the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA).
Dr. Mansour received a Division Award for Outstanding Team Leadership from IBM during the development of the ALORS2 database. He has been showcased in the 53rd through 58th editions of Who's Who in America, as well as the fifth edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering, the 26th edition of Who's Who in the East and the first edition of Who's Who in the Media and Communication.
Born in Washington, D.C. in 1952, Dr. Mansour is the proud father of three children: Darlene, George and Lisa. He recently married his wife Regina J. Mansour (nee Okrasinksi) in 2012. In his free time, he can often be found singing in a barbershop quartet. He also enjoys playing bridge.
