She went on to work as partner and principal at Planned Investments, Inc., from 1972 to 1986, and she has been president of TFG, Inc., since 1972. Alongside her work with this organization, she was associated with National Planning Corporation since 2000.
Interested in economics and finance from a young age, Ms. Tanner exhibits significant interactive skills and utilizes them to help her clients with their financial planning. Internationally known for her professional accomplishments, Ms. Tanner has been formative to the development of the financial planning industry, often advising her peers to gain a firm understanding of financial issues before entering the market. Ms. Tanner was named one of the seven best financial planners in the country by Money Magazine in 1982 and was named Certified Financial Planner of the Year in 1981.
Demonstrating unparalleled knowledge in her field, Ms. Tanner has co-written such works as "Shelter What You Make," "Your Book of Financial Planning" and "McGraw Hill's Real Estate Book." She has also contributed to the Nob Hill Gazette as a columnist. Interested in civic outreach, Ms. Tanner has served on the board of directors for the The Marine Mammal Center and has worked on advisory boards for Golden Gate University/University of California, along with work on the board of the Marin Theater Company. As a testament to her success, she has been highlighted in the 28th edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, the 63rd edition of Who's Who in America and the 25th edition of Who's Who of American Women.
