Sheree L. Fahlberg taught in the Illinois public school system for more than 30 years.

Ms. Fahlberg taught in the Illinois public school system for more than 30 years. Retiring as a special education resource teacher at the Carbondale Community High School in 2011, she formerly taught special education at Goreville Unit School between 1993 and 1994. She also taught both special education and physical education and coached sports at several other schools, including Cairo Junior High School, Anna-Jonesboro Community High School, Tri-County Education Center and the Egyptian Unit School.
During her tenure, Ms. Fahlberg spent time as a GED instructor at Shawnee Community College in Ullin, IL. She also worked as a consultant in adaptive physical education rehabilitation services at the Alton Mental Health and Development Center, was a cooperative teacher of student teaching at Southern Illinois University of Education and was a presenter at Science in the South.
Proud of her many years of devotion to her students, Ms. Fahlberg especially enjoyed getting reluctant learners to understand what they were being taught. She gives a lot of credit for her career choice to one of her childhood friends' mother and father, who were both educators and served as mentors to her as a child.
A former member of the Council for Exceptional Children, Ms. Fahlberg remains active with Phi Theta Kappa and the Women's Athletic Association. In her community, she has volunteered her time with the Northeast Arkansas Baptist Hospital, was an assistant Cub Scout master and Cub Scout den leader for the Boy Scouts of America in Anna, IL, was a youth soccer coach and recreational t-ball and soccer coach, and volunteered for local swim meet competitions. Since 2015, Ms. Fahlberg has been involved as a member of the Northeast Arkansas Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, The Elks Lodge #498, and the Jonesboro Foundation of Arts Organization.
Ms. Fahlberg has been cited in the sixth edition of Who's Who in American Education and the 20th edition of Who's Who of American Women. She has held an Associate of Arts from Black Hawk College since 1975 and a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University since 1978. She is a certified kindergarten through 12th grade teacher in the state of Illinois and is certified in emotional disorders, learning disabilities, and behavioral disabilities for kindergarten through 12th grade in the state of Illinois.
Married to the late Mark Randolph Fahlberg for 38 years, Ms. Fahlberg has two wonderful sons and one grandson. In retirement, she enjoys staying active by swimming and weight training and she especially enjoys the outdoors, where she has the opportunity to go hiking and traveling.
