An accomplished listee, Dr. Gore celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. After earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1958, Dr. Gore earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1960. From there, he completed an internship with Milwaukee County General Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, from 1960 to 1961. At the Marquette University Medical College of Wisconsin, he started in general surgery in 1961. While serving as Captain in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1963, he noticed that the young population in Maine had simple orthopedic problems. Upon returning, he entered an orthopedic training program and completed a residency in 1967. Furthermore, he earned certifications from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1970, the American Board of Spine Surgery Inc. in 1998, and the American Board of Medical Examiners in 2011.

Serving as a member of the admissions committee with the Medical College of Wisconsin from 2010 to 2012, Dr. Gore previously acted as a medical director with the CRIU, HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, WI, from 2006 to 2010. In the department of orthopaedic surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin, he was a clinical professor from 1980 to 2013, an associate clinical professor from 1973 to 1980, an assistant clinical professor from 1972 to 1973, and chairman of the education committee from 1971 to 1986. Additionally, he excelled as a clinical instructor in the department of surgery and orthopaedic surgery from 1969 to 1972.

From 1968 to 2013, Dr. Gore found success practicing medicine specializing in orthopaedic surgery at Sheboygan Orthopaedic Associates. In the year leading up to this post, he accepted a fellowship in at the University of California, San Francisco, where he worked in the biomechanics lab in the department of orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation. From 1964 to 1968, he acted as an assistant instructor in the department of surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His first professional role was as an affiliate medical staff at HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, WI, until he joined the staff at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital of Aurora Health Care, now known as Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

Outside of his primary endeavors, Dr. Gore held the position of a research associate and co- investigator in the Kinesiology Research Laboratory at the VA Medical Center, now known as the Milwaukee VA Medical Center from 1970 to 1986. Notably, he is active on the admissions committee at the Medical College of Wisconsin from 2010 to 2012. Moreover, he served as a member of the board of editors for the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgical Techniques from 1985 to 1990 and the Wisconsin Medical Journal from 1998 to 2001, and he has contributed articles to various professional publications, chapters to books, as well as original clinical studies, basic science research, and case reports.

Dr. Gore was an invited book reviewer for "Anatomical Kinesiology" in 2013, "The Joy of X" in 2012, and wrote 78 reviews for the Spine Journal from 2003 to 2011. He served as photographer for "Brahmaputra River" Imagery Section Spine 24 in 1999 and co-exhibitor for "Comparative Pathology of the Femoral Head in Hip Joint Disease" in 1975. Further work includes involvement with "Subvastus Approach for Total Knee Replacement" in 1998, "Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair" in 1998, and "Iatrogenic Avascular Necrosis of the Hip in Young Children" in 1975.

A fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 1972, where he was on the board of councilors from 1985 to 1991, Dr. Gore demonstrates significant interest in maintaining connections in his field. As a result, he is affiliated with such organizations as the American Medical Association, the Mid-American Orthopaedic Society, the Clinical Orthopaedic Society, the Wisconsin Orthopaedic Society, for which he was president from 1982 to 1984, and the Milwaukee Orthopaedic Society, where he served as president from 1977 to 1979. Additionally, he is a lifetime member of the Frederick A. Cook Society and is affiliated with the North American Spine Society, and the Cervical Spine Research Society.

In recognition of his professional achievements, Dr. Gore was honored with the Leading Physicians of the World Award in 2016, the Best Doctors in American Award from Woodward/White Inc. in 1996, the Distinguished Service Award from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1995, and Teacher of the Year Award from the Senior Orthopaedic Residents in 1977 and 1984. Furthermore, he was named one of America's Top Orthopaedists by the Consumers' Research Council of America in 2013. In 2011, he was contacted by producers of Joan Lunden's PBS Special to do a life surgical procedure on cervical spine, but he declined due to stopping surgery in 2010.

Dr. Gore has been honored in numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and Who's Who in the World. He is particularly proud of his teaching orthopedic residents, which resulted in a very large increase in their performance on training. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, fishing, playing tennis, playing golf, and backpacking.
