Mr. Cottrell has made strides in creation versus evolution research throughout his career's duration, and spends much of his time working on solar astrophotography.
ORO VALLEY, AZ, January 08, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Ronald Cottrell with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Cottrell celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Prior to embarking on his professional path, Mr. Cottrell earned a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from the University of Arizona in 1964. He followed this accomplishment with a Master's degree from the University of Arizona in 1970. Registered as a professional aeronautical engineer in the State of Arizona, Mr. Cottrell began his career as a dynamics engineer on the Apollo Saturn V rocket with North American Aviation.
Mr. Cottrell later excelled as a systems engineer with Hughes Aircraft, a senior systems engineer for Litton Industries, an advanced design manager for Northrop and advanced program vice president of Nichols Research. Recently, he has worked for Raytheon Missile Systems as a program manager for the NATO missile defense system. Though he was interested in astronomy from a young age, Mr. Cottrell ultimately decided to pursue a career in engineering in hopes of getting involved with the Apollo space program.
Along with achieving this goal, Mr. Cottrell has also contributed to dozens of missile systems. Additionally, he found success at Northrop developing the concept that became the now in-production miniature air launched decoy. Exhibiting considerable field-related knowledge, Mr. Cottrell authored "The Remarkable Spaceship Earth" in 1982 as well as several technical articles for professional journals advancing missile guidance theory and chapters to books in his industry.
Demonstrating expertise in his field, Mr. Cottrell has made strides in creation versus evolution research throughout his career's duration, and spends much of his time working on solar astrophotography. He has also maintained involvement as a docent at the Kitt Peak National Observatory. Due to his interest in ongoing professional developments, Mr. Cottrell served on technical committees with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mr. Cottrell has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
