Mr. Mauriocourt is a history instructor at the Technical College of the Lowcountry in Beaufort, SC. Hired in August, 1998, he formerly taught as an adjunct faculty member at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, OH, between 1993 and 1998. Throughout his career, he has witnessed many changes in education. Teaching in various settings, including face to face, online, and via cable and broadcasting, it has been a very exciting time in history for educators. Following in the footsteps of his father, brother and several other members of his family who were also teachers, Mr. Mauriocourt took a special interest in history early on, which was a deciding factor for him when it came to choosing what he wanted to teach.
Outside of his work in the classroom, Mr. Mauriocourt has been active in the communities he has lived in over the years especially as an elected member of the precinct committee in the 1990's in Maple Heights, OH, and as the lead advisor since 2007 for Phi Theta Kappa's Alpha Lambda Beta chapter at Technical College of the Lowcountry in Beaufort, SC. He also recently served as a guest speaker at the University of South Carolina Beaufort Campus Center for the Arts for the "Books Sandwiched In" series hosted by Friends of the Beaufort Library in March, 2018.
Mr. Mauriocourt was a 2002-2003 nominee of an award from the South Carolina Technical Education Association. He has notably been cited in the 64th and 65th editions of Who's Who in America. He has held a Bachelor of Arts from Hiram College in Ohio since 1986 and a Master of Arts from Cleveland State University since 1990.
