Dr. Antony is a Professor (PAR) of Surgery, the Vice-Chair of Academic Affairs and the Chief of Breast Reconstruction in the Department of Surgery at Rush University Medical Center. In addition to her primary roles, she has served as the President of the Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons, President of the Illinois State Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Chair of the Plastic Surgery Foundation (national) Research Fundamentals and Career Advancement Conference, Vice-Chair of the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is an invited speaker nationally and internationally.
Prior to these appointments, from 2008 to 2009, Dr. Antony completed a research fellowship with Harvard Medical School at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Antony excelled as a microsurgery fellow with the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Clinical Instructor of Surgery at Weill-Cornell Medical College from 2007 to 2008 in Manhattan, New York. Earlier in her career, she completed her residency training in general surgery and plastic surgery at Stanford University Medical Center from 2001 to 2007 in Stanford, California. Furthermore, Dr. Antony is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Antony began her career as a student at the University of North Carolina, obtaining a Doctor of Medicine in 2001. She continued her studies with the Harvard School of Public Health, completing a Master of Public Health in 2009. Dr. Antony concluded her studies in 2018, earning a Master of Business Administration in the Executive Program at the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management.
A respected voice in her industry, Dr. Antony has been active with a number of organizations in her community. She has been elected to the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, the American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgeons and served in advisory board roles for Industry.
