SEAHURST, WA, January 17, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Joanne D. Lawrence with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Lawrence celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by more than 30 years of practiced industry experience, Ms. Lawrence has served as the chair of DAHRT, also known as Disabled Americans Have Rights Too, since 1993. She is especially proud that the organization rose into prominence, as she was initially doubtful that she would be able to succeed significantly in the endeavor. Over the course of her career, she also gained valuable expertise as a teacher for Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, WA, where she taught from 1987 to 2015. During her time as a teacher, she made it a point to contribute to the Governor's Committee on Disability and Employment Issues, where she served as a board member from 1990 to 1996.
An expert in her field, Ms. Lawrence holds an Associate of Arts from Clark College in Vancouver, WA. Subsequently, she continued her studies through the University of Washington, Pacific Lutheran University, Seattle Central College and Renton Technical College, and she earned a certificate in American Sign Language. In an effort to remain abreast of changes in the field, she maintains affiliation with the Polio Outreach of Washington and the National Retired Teachers Association. In addition, with a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, she has authored a number of children's books and greeting card verses.
In light of her outstanding work, Ms. Lawrence has earned a number of awards, including the Advocacy Award from the City of Burien, a Cultural Diversity Award from Nordstrom, a Trophy from the Governor's Committee and a Woman's Advocacy Award. She has further been featured in the 68th and 69th editions of Who's Who in America. Looking ahead, Ms. Lawrence intends to experience continued success with DAHRT.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Joanne D. Lawrence has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
