Now recognized as a senior vice president of Trustmark National Bank, Mr. Hettick is also heavily involved with C.A.R.H.A., or Christian Action & Relief for Haiti. Founded in 1998, the nonprofit organization aims to aid Haitian families living in Haiti through providing spiritual, mental, financial and physical support. Mr. Hettick currently assists the organization as the president of the board of directors, a position he has maintained since 2016. Over the years, he has also participated in several mission trips to Haiti and England. At the present moment, C.A.R.H.A. is raising money to build a boys dormitory.
Prior to joining the financial services industry, Mr. Hettick worked as a math educator for three years. He holds a Bachelor of Education from Illinois State University, as well as a diploma from the ABA Compliance and Graduate Compliance Schools. Following 10 years of dedication to the financial sector, he was approached for a compliance job opportunity, which he gladly accepted. Since then, Mr. Hettick has been recognized as a certified regulatory compliance manager through the Institute of Certified Bankers. He is active with the Mississippi Regulatory Compliance Group, the Open Compliance Committee of the American Bankers Association, and the Chief Compliance Officer Group with the Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America.
Reflecting on his longstanding career, Mr. Hettick has always found the greatest fulfillment in leading his team to success. Likewise, he credits his team with inspiring him and motivating him to keep doing the best he can in a true mutual effort. Mr. Hettick has been set apart from his peers by his ability to remain proactive, rather than waiting to respond to events. Among his greatest talents is working a problem from every angle until a solution is found. He hopes to be remembered as an individual who was willing to make changes as necessary.
Mr. Hettick is very proud of his family, which includes two children, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. As Mr. Hettick nears retirement, he plans to become even more involved with C.A.R.H.A. while considering additional volunteer opportunities. In recognition of his numerous career accomplishments, Mr. Hettick was selected to receive the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. Unsurprisingly, he was named a Distinguished Humanitarian that same year. On March 30, 2018, Mr. Hettick and his recent accolades were featured in The Wall Street Journal.
