Supported by 35 years of industry experience, Ms. Ogburn currently serves as a professor and a digital strategies and partnerships librarian for Appalachian State University, where she initially worked as the dean and a distinguished professor. Earlier in her career, she excelled as a librarian for the Pennsylvania State University. Over the years, Ms. Ogburn has accrued valuable expertise in varying library positions with Yale University, Old Dominion University, the University of Washington and the University of Utah.
In order to remain aware of changes and exercise leadership in the field, Ms. Ogburn is affiliated with the American Library Association, the Center for Research Libraries, the Association of College Research Libraries and the American Anthropological Association. One of the highlights of her career was aiding in the $80 million renovation of The J. Willard Marriott Library at the University of Utah. Although the renovation took four and a half years to complete, the results turned out to be even more spectacular than Ms. Ogburn could have imagined.
An expert in her field, Ms. Ogburn earned a Bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of North Carolina. She continued her studies at the University of North Carolina, obtaining a Master of Science in library science. Subsequently, Ms. Ogburn graduated with a Master of Arts in anthropology from Indiana University.
For her excellence in the field, Ms. Ogburn has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumna by the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill's School of Information and Library Science. Additionally, she has been featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in American Libraries and Who's Who of American Women. Looking toward the future, Ms. Ogburn intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career.
