Cited as the youngest insurance master by Tong Yang Insurance Company Ltd., she has shared the secrets of her success with her peers through her many publications, including "I'm A Guardian Angel," which was published through Taurus Publishers in 2004 and was ranked fourth in the business section of Youngpoong Books. Notably, Dr. Kang's book was translated into English soon thereafter, and she was the first Korean author to be referenced by the Million Dollar Round Table, an American trade association to aid insurance brokers and financial advisors establish efficient business practices.
The recipient of a Master's degree in economics from Yonsei University and a Doctor of Philosophy in business administration from Korea Aerospace University, Dr. Kang's thesis was titled "A Study on Determinants and Satisfaction of Life Planner's Turnover," which won the Social Contribution Research Paper Award from the Korea Life Insurance Association in 2011. Thereafter, her doctoral thesis was published in 2013, entitled "An Analysis on the Relation between Subjective Assessment on the Retirement and Retirement Satisfaction." Dr. Kang has further published numerous books of poetry and other forms of literature, including "I Support You," "Match Made in Heaven" and "Hoping to Go to the Farmers' Market."
Locally involved, Dr. Kang has served in a plethora of leadership roles with such organizations as the Korea Kidney Patients Association and the Jeju International Evergreen Concert Association, where she held the post of a fundraising chairman. An advisory and honorary chairman of District 3662 of Rotary International, as well as the former president of District 3660 of Rotary International, she also found success as the director of the Jeju branch of the Korea National Federation of UNESCO Clubs & Associations. Likewise, Dr. Kang has excelled as an honorary ambassador of the Jeju branch of the Korea Federation for HIV/AIDS Prevention.
In light of her many accomplishments, Dr. Kang has garnered multiple honors and accolades. Presented with the Grand Prize from Tong Yong Life Insurance Co. Ltd. in 2003, she was recognized as the youngest insurance master among 400,000 insurance agents within the Republic of Korea. The same year, she accepted the Grand Prize from World AIDS Day, and in 2008, she obtained the President Prize from Rotary International. Notably, Dr. Kang also accrued the International Culture & Art Prize in 2015.
