Since 1982, Dr. Bravoco has excelled as an information technology consultant and longtime owner of Bravoco Associates. Beginning his career in 1962 as a member of the MITRE Corporation Technical Staff in Burlington, Mass., he worked for five years with the organization, where he had to opportunity to learn a great deal about computers and information systems that would later prepare him for a bright future in the field. In 1967, he was hired as a Senior Scientific Programmer at Raytheon Company's Space and Information Systems Division. In 1969 he was awarded Raytheon's Phd Fellowship to attend the University of Massachusetts in Amherst , Ma. In 1971 he returned as the Director of the Systems Design Department at Raytheon Company's Equipment Division. Two years later, he served as the Vice President of both the International Division and the CADCAM division at Softech Inc. in Waltham, Mass. In 1982, Dr. Bravoco found success teaching as an Associate Professor in the College of Business at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, which has since designated him as a Professor Emeritus in 2005.
Lending his expertise as a consultant in the field to such organizations as the International Telephone and Telegraph in France, England, Spain and Belgium, Dr. Bravoco has also consulted for General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas, IBM U.S. and International Operations, MTA, Inc. in Huntsville, Ala., General Motors in Detroit and several government organizations. He has also written extensively, contributing more than 100 articles to various scholarly Journals and Conference Proceedings and authoring six books on systems analysis and design. Furthermore, Dr. Bravoco has been active at numerous conferences throughout his career relative to his areas of expertise.
Dr. Bravoco initially pursued an education at the Boston Latin School, graduating in 1961. He continued his studies at Northeastern University, where he obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree in 1966 and 1969, respectively. Dr. Bravoco concluded his studies at the University of Massachusetts, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Business in 1971.
Dr. Bravoco was a longstanding member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Computer and Automated Systems Association and the Decision Science Institute. Furthermore, he has been appointed on the board of directors of the Anju Gill Academy of the Academic Foundation in Juanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. The recipient of a Joseph Kennedy Scholarship in 1961, he was also recognized as a Northeastern University scholar from 1961 to 1962 and a Raytheon fellow from 1969 to 1971. Likewise, Dr. Bravoco has been included in the 21st edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest, 5th Edition of Who's Who in the World, and 21st and 22nd Editions of Who's Who in Industry and Finance. He is also listed in the 2nd Edition of the Directory of Distinguished Americans published by The American Biographical Society.
