With more than 40 years of professional experience, Ms. Lianzi was a member of the adjunct faculty at Miami-Dade College from 2000 to 2006, having been a librarian with the college from 1969 to 1975 and secretary of the faculty senate from 1972 to 1974. She worked for Miami-Dade Public Library from 1975 to 2000 in Business and Science and Social Sciences as a Librarian and then as a Librarian III before retiring. Prior to obtaining these roles, she was an assistant librarian at Florida Keys Community College from 1967 to 1969 and a teacher with Carson City-Crystal Schools in Michigan from 1965 to 1966. Earlier in her career, Ms. Lianzi was a teacher with Sandwich Public Schools in Illinois from 1964 to 1965 and with Leland Community Unit School District from 1963 to 1964.
Ms. Lianzi began her career as a student at Northern Illinois University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1961. She continued her studies with the university, completing a Master of Science in education in 1965. She subsequently joined Florida State University, earning a Master of Science in 1967.
A respected voice in her areas of expertise, Ms. Lianzi has been an active leader in her community. She was a part of the Decade of Progress Bond Program in early 1970 which approved the construction of Metro Rail. She represented the League of Women Voters on the different panels that were televised locally. She also participated in the Miami-Dade Public Library radio broadcasted book talks. She had been a volunteer for the Museum of Discovery and Science, and she was a member of the technical advisory board to the water advisory board of the South Florida Water Management District. She is a life member of the Florida State University Alumni Association, a member of Florida State University Emeritus Alumni Society, the League of Women Voters, and the Lee County Ponds at Pelican Preserve in Florida which is affiliated with the South Florida Water Management District.
Throughout her career, Ms. Lianzi has been recognized for her achievements and accomplishments. She has received accolades and honors from various organizations for her contributions. She has also been featured in numerous honors publications, including the 20th edition of Who's Who of American Women.
