John R. Pate has been named to the Hall of Fame of the Arkansas chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, which he considers a highlight of his career.

Prior to this appointment, he served in the same capacity for Environmental Enterprises, Inc., in Little Rock, Arkansas, from 1973 to 2000. Mr. Pate commenced his career as an engineer for Trane Inc. in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, from 1966 to 1973. Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Pate was a former member of the principal's advisory council at the Liebert Corp. in Columbus, Ohio, as well as a former contract trainer of energy auditors at the Arkansas Energy Office.
Mr. Pate holds a Bachelor of Science in liberal arts from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, which he received in 1965 and 1966, respectively. To remain up to date on recent developments within the industry, he has maintained affiliation with numerous professional organizations in relation to his areas of expertise, including the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, where he is a lifetime member and previously served as chapter president in the early 1970s. In addition, Mr. Pate has been associated with the Association of Energy Engineers, the Data Processing Managers Association, the Little Rock Engineers Club, and the Arkansas Council of Engineering and Related Societies, where he served as chairman in 1979.
When he is not involved in his professional pursuits, Mr. Pate enjoys giving back to his community as a board member of the Arkansas Engineering Foundation and member of the Arkansas State Energy Task Force. Likewise, he is a past instructor at the College of Engineering at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and former general chairman of the Governor's Prayer Breakfast. Also involved in his local church, Mr. Pate is a deacon of the Roman Catholic Church and a board certified hospice chaplain.
