Mrs. Bowman is a tenured information systems specialist whose expertise lies in database management and data science. Becoming involved in the field in its formative stages, especially for women, she first took the IBM Computer Aptitude test to see if she truly had the potential to work in computer science. Achieving high scores, Mrs. Bowman was accepted into a college program at the age of 17, graduated and began what would become a very successful career.
Retired from full-time work, Mrs. Bowman is currently an adjunct professor of computer science at Montgomery County Community College. During her career, she worked as a systems consultant and lead analyst for National Liberty Corporation in Malvern PA; she also worked as a team leader for the Witco Chemical Company in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, the Airline Tariff Publishing Company at Dulles Airport in Washington, DC, and for the State of Virginia. She was also a consultant for various organizations, including Systems Integration Solutions, Inc., in Richmond, VA, The Computer Learning Center in East Norriton, PA, and was a programmer for Carlton Industries in Richmond, dating back to 1974. During her career, Mrs. Bowman was blessed to be able to take 10 years off to raise her children and then return to the field. Picking up right where she left off, she remained in database management for another 20 years, working as the Coordinator of Administrative Technology for North Penn School District in Lansdale, PA.
Ms. Bowman is a longstanding member of the National Association for Female Executives. She has been cited in several editions of Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. She holds an MBA with a specialty in Information Systems from Ashford University, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Information Systems from Ashford University graduating Summa Cum Laude, and an Associate of Science from West Virginia University Institute of Technology.
Born Patricia Harris in Charleston, WV, she later married Harry Jackson Stroman in 1980, and was blessed with two children, James Stroman and Virginia (Stroman) Flanagan, and one grandchild, Fiona Celeste Flanagan. After her husband's death, she later married James Mitchell Bowman in 2016.
