Charles "Chuck" Hardwick Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

With nearly 50 years of professional experience, Mr. Hardwick was Senior VP of worldwide government and public affairs at Pfizer, Inc. in NYC from 2002 until his retirement in 2006. He was Vice President of Government Relations from 1977 to 2002 and Director of Marketing from 1973 until 1977. He joined the company in 1966 as a sales representative.

A highlight at Pfizer was his appointment in 2002 as President of the Pfizer Foundation where he participated in the development and construction of the Infectious Disease Institute in Kampala, Uganda which has become a world class treatment and training center for HIV/AIDS.

He was also elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in 1977 where he served for 14 years and was elected Speaker in 1985-1989. He was appointed by President Reagan to the Presidential Advisory Committee on Federalism and was Vice Chair of the Resolutions Committee at the Republican National Convention in 1988.

He authored state legislation protecting people from abusive strip searches by local police, requiring medical histories of biological parents when feasible during the adoption process and addressing compulsive gambling. He ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for Governor in 1989 and chose not to seek reelection to the Assembly in 1993.

He was named to the Florida State University College of Business Hall of Fame, Legislator of the Year by the American Legislative Exchange Council. He served on the Board of Palm Beach County United Way, FSU College of Business Advisory Committee, Board Royal Poinciana Chapel in Palm Beach, and the Place of Hope Advisory Council.

Mr. Hardwick is retired and lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
