From 1989 to 1991, he held multiple positions at the Hospital of South Texas, including as the vice chair and the chair of the board. Additionally, Dr. Cook found success as a assistant clinical professor at the University of Texas, San Antonio, and the medical director at the Del Mar College Ultrasound Technology School between 1998 and 2018.
Dr. Cook initially pursued an education at Hutchinson Community College, obtaining an Associate of Arts in 1976. He concluded his studies at the University of Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1979 and a Doctor of Medicine in 1983. He subsequently completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center from 1983 to 1987. Moreover, Dr. Cook is a diplomate of the American College of Radiology and a licensed private pilot.
A respected voice in the field, Dr. Cook has been an active member of the Texas Medical Association, the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the Texas Medical Society, the Texas Radiological Society, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the Nueces County Medical Society. Throughout his career, he has been celebrated for his achievements, including having accepted the Resident Teaching Award from the University of Kansas Department of Radiology.
