Prior to embarking on her professional path, Ms. Miller pursued an education at Sun Valley High School in Aston, PA, graduating with a diploma in 1972. She later returned to her studies in 2000, earning a Master's degree in criminal justice at West Chester University. Following a lifelong interest in nutrition, she worked as an aerobics instructor while serving as a police officer in the Borough of Media, PA, from 1984 to 2006, during which time she participated in many crime prevention programs for children, adults and seniors. After she retired from the police department, Ms. Miller worked as an adjunct professor in the Division of Arts and Sciences at Neumann University from 2008 to 2013. In 2017, Ms. Miller became certified by NAASM to specialize in teaching senior fitness. In addition to her success in the field, having accomplished many of the goals she had set for herself, Ms. Miller has further contributed to such organizations as Friends of the Fallen, Stockings for Soldiers and the ASPCA.
Inspired by the adversity she had faced in her youth due to her gender and the gender bias in her chosen profession of police officer, Ms. Miller takes great pride in passing along her expertise in criminal justice to the next generation of law enforcement students.. She found her ability to interact with children and senior citizens regarding safety to be among the highlights of her career, which additionally include, the platform to help others live healthier lives, attaining an investment from "The Biggest Loser" coach Jen Widerstrom. Looking toward the future, Ms. Miller hopes to continue her excellent work at IDLife, which has recently partnered with Garmin.
