In 1978, Mr. Ku earned a Master of Laws from National Taipei University in Taiwan. He serves as chairman of the Mediation Center Association of Arbitration, a mediator for the Taiwan High Court, as well as chairman at Formosan Brothers Foundation. Mr. Ku is also a founding partner of Formosan Brothers Attorneys-at-Law and advising counsel at Stellex Law Firm. In addition to these positions, he worked as an associate professor at Soochow University School of Law and a notary public at the Taipei District Court. Mr. Ku began practicing as an arbitrator in 1985 and has been an arbitrator for the Arbitration Association of the Republic of China, the China International Economic & Trade Arbitration Commission, the Chinese Arbitration Association, Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, the Xiamen Arbitration Commission, and chief commissioner for the Committee of Arbitrator Selection.
Demonstrating considerable professional expertise, Mr. Ku has worked as a member of the Attorneys Disciplinary Committee and commissioner of the Bar Discipline Review Committee in Taiwan. Mr. Ku celebrates a successful career in his field, and he also serves as executive director of the Taiwan Jurist Association, as well as a consulting member of the Taipei City Government's committee for examiner petitions and appeals.
In addition to his preeminent professional accomplishments, Mr. Ku has served as president for the Taipei Bar Association, Taiwan Bar Association, and Taiwan Law Society, director for the Legal Aid Foundation, among other prominent organizations. A distinguished educator in his field, he is a director at Fudan High School, was a lecturer of arbitrators' training courses for the Ministry of Justice in Taipei, and served as commissioner and instructor for the Arbitrators' Training Program. Mr. Ku also worked for the Tax Payers' Rights and Interests Protection Association.
Mr. Ku has published several works in his field, including "Introduction of the Subordinated Arbitration System in the US Court Jurisdiction," "Disclosure Obligation and Withdrawal of Lawyers: When Counsels for Opposing Parties are Family or Relatives," "Construction Law: Birth, Development, Sickness and Death of the Construction Law" and seven volumes of "A Study of Construction Laws in Practice." He also co-wrote "The Role of an Arbitrator," and has edited various works across the law industry.
