He gave professional services to clients of Arthur Andersen & Company, Cresap, McCormick & Paget Inc., Praxis Group and PracSys Corporation. He also left a legacy of exemplary stewardship in general management positions with Velsicol Chemical Corporation, Panduit Corporation, the Rocky Mountain Bank Note Company, James Martin Associates and Digital Dictation, Inc. In addition, Mr. Gruber and a partner founded a company, PracSys Corporation, which developed data systems and procedures to recover increased value of near-term, off-lease automobiles for their lessors. The company was sold to SunTrust Banks, Inc., a PracSys client.
A hardworking and dedicated professional, Mr. Gruber earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and economics from DePauw University. Moreover, he graduated with a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Gruber has affiliations with the Finance Executives Institute, the Federalist Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has also been a contributor to the American Management Association as a panelist on various subjects.
For his professional excellence, Mr. Gruber has been presented with scholarships from DePauw University and the University of Chicago. In light of his many accomplishments, he has left a legacy of good stewardship to the companies with which he worked.
Since retiring from business in 1998, Mr. Gruber has been active in using his economics, financial and legal experience to develop improvements in public policy. He has contributed his thinking to the media, think tanks and applicable government officials. He is also a dedicated tennis player, having achieved age-group success in 70-plus age categories as finalists in The Denver City Open and the Colorado State Open.
