At the beginning of his career, he worked in various clerical positions for the Northern Pacific Railway Company. He later obtained similar administrative roles, including as the supervisor, the manager of personnel research and statistics and the manager of manpower planning for Burlington Northern Railroad Company, which had merged with Northern Pacific. Over the years, Mr. Dagnon has found success through his work with Burlington Northern Incorporated, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company and the Boeing Company.
An expert in his field, Mr. Dagnon earned a certificate in industrial relations and a Bachelor of Science in business from the University of Minnesota. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he is affiliated with the National Academy of Human Resources, of which he is a fellow. During his spare time, Mr. Dagnon has contributed to such organizations as the Washington Early Learning Foundation, the United Way of Metropolitan Tarrant County, the Western Washington Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the board of directors for the Washington State Governor's Commission on Higher Education.
In a career filled with highlights, Mr. Dagnon fondly recalls a number of mergers that took place, such as when Northern Pacific Railway merged with Burlington Northern Railroad and when Boeing merged with McDonnell-Douglas.
