Thomas Whitaker Celebrates Many Years of Practiced Experience in Education

Dr. Thomas Whitaker found success with Goddard College, the University of Iowa and Yale University, where he has been designated as a Frederick W. Hilles professor emeritus of English.

    GUILFORD, CT, March 01, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thomas Whitaker has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As the son of a teacher, Dr. Whitaker has excelled in the field of education for nearly 65 years. At the beginning of his career, he worked for Oberlin College as an English instructor, later holding the positions of an assistant professor, an associate professor and a professor. Following these appointments, Dr. Whitaker found success in similar roles with Goddard College, the University of Iowa and Yale University, where he has been designated as a Frederick W. Hilles professor emeritus of English.

A member of the Modern Language Association, Dr. Whitaker initially pursued an education at Oberlin College, earning a Bachelor of Arts. He continued his studies with a Master of Arts at Yale University. Dr. Whitaker concluded his academic efforts at Yale University, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy.

With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Whitaker has authored a number of works, including "Swan and Shadow: Texas's Dialogue with History," "William Carlos Williams," "Mirrors of Our Playing: Paradigms and Presences in Modern Drama," "Narrator Video Script: Excellence in Teaching: Agenda for Partnership" and "Fields of Play in Modern Drama." Additionally, he has served as an advisor, an editor and a reviewer for a number of written works. For his outstanding accomplishments, he accepted a Seton Elm and Ivy Award from the city of New Haven, Connecticut, and Yale University, as well as the Harbison Award for Gifted Teaching from the Danforth Foundation. Likewise, He has been featured in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in American Education. Looking toward the future, Dr. Whitaker intends to continue parlaying his knowledge to others in his role as professor emeritus.
