Drawing from his early background from his father, Oran T. McIlvaine of St. Charles school system and later from Waubonsee Community College in Aurora, Illinois, Mr. McIlvaine worked for several of his father's companies during the Fifties and Sixties. After his father's death in 1962, Mr. McIlvaine bought Electronic Products Company in 1964, and became president and owner of Photo-Crystals Co. in 1965 to present. He was a partner in Mid Valley Service Co. from 1968 to 1973. Mr. McIlvaine was also a part-time police officer in Valley View, Illinois from 1970 to 1979. He founded McIlvaine Electronic Security Systems, Inc. in 1972 to present. In 2001, he along with Mike Mendel created Mac/Men Corp. to facilitate his various inventions, including an advanced All Weather Wind Turbine to operate from 5 to 175 miles per hour. He is a licensed private alarm contractor and locksmith in the State of Illinois. He also holds certification in Homeland Security Level III by the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute. Mr. McIlvaine learned how to manage responsibility at an early age due to the death of his father. He became involved with the burglar and fire alarm industry when he bought out a friend who was a St. Charles fireman. While he has an incredibly flexible skill set, he has considered the burglar and fire alarm business his primary industry. Due to unmatched personal drive, Mr. McIlvaine has been recognized with numerous awards from a wide range of organizations over the years. He was a Charter Member of President Ronald Reagan's Republican Task Force in 1984, and became a Life Member in 1994 under the Bush administration. Mr. McIlvaine was a member of the St. Charles Emergency Management Agency, a unit of the S t. Charles Fire Department for 55 years, and also served as their radio officer from 1965 to 1969, utilizing his professionally honed abilities. Some of his other interests are bicycle riding, swimming and skiing. He has been a longtime member of the Fox Valley Bicycle & Ski Club. In light of all his accomplishments, Mr. McIlvaine was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, the first edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, and the 1975 edition of Who's Who in America.
