Prior to his retirement, he held a number of positions with GATX Corporation and GATX Terminals Corporation in Chicago, IL, including treasurer of GATX Terminals Corporation from 1983 to 1993, vice president of finance from 1976 to 1983, assistant controller of GATX Corporation from 1970 to 1976, and controller of GATX Terminals Corporation from 1964 to 1970. Earlier in his career, he was the controller, director and assistant treasurer at Butler Paper Company from 1959 to 1964 and an auditor at Ernst and Whinney from 1952 to 1959.
Mr. Anderson began his career as a student at the University of Illinois, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 1952. He later continued his studies with the University of Chicago, completing postgraduate coursework from 1965 to 1967. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Illinois.
A respected voice in the field, Mr. Anderson has been an active leader in his community. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society, and the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Prior to retirement, he served as board chair of Fairview Foundation and member of the board of Fairview Baptist Home. He also published a commentary in 2008 on the Book of Revelations and other end-time prophetic scriptures from both the Old and New Testaments of The Bible, entitled "Revelation and Other End-Time Scriptures: A New Look." In his book, he addresses several age-old questions regarding interpretation of prophetic scriptures in both Old and New Testaments.
Throughout his career, Mr. Anderson has been recognized for his contributions. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including Illinois Lives, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, and Who's Who in the World.
