At the inception of his career, he gained valuable expertise as a senior engineer with Logicon, Inc., in San Pedro, CA, from 1983 to 1996.
An expert in his field, Dr. Sharman holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of California, Los Angeles. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the American Meteorological Society, where he is also a fellow, the Royal Meteorological Society, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Sigma Xi. He has additionally contributed myriad articles to research journals throughout his tenure.
In light of his outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Sharman won a number of awards, including the Aviation and Space Operations Weather Prize in 2018 and the Aviation Meteorology Award through the National Weather Association in 2018. Named one of the Top 50 Scientists and Research Leaders in Aerospace by Scientific America in 2003, he has been featured in numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the World.
