Traveling to numerous countries to teach and work with other educators, she has always enjoys working with young children and opening their eyes to the wonderments of the world. In her spare time, she enjoys her involvement with the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as a woman of faith, member of the chancel and bell choirs, and evangelism committee member.
As a testament to her success, Dr. Bivens was the recipient of the Sara Ferguson Achievement Award from Delta Kappa Gamma in 1990.
