Dr. Klassen initially pursued an education at the University of Texas, El Paso, from which he obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1961. He continued his academic efforts at the University of New Mexico, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in 1966. Dr. Klassen concluded his studies at the Institute for Physical Chemistry of the University of Frankfurt am Main, completing a postdoctoral fellowship from 1966 to 1967.
Throughout his career, Dr. Klassen has been celebrated for his achievements within the field of education. He has received a number of awards and accolades for his accomplishments. A member of the American Chemical Society, Dr. Klassen has been featured in numerous publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
