Dr. Kotlowitz currently manages InformationGenesis, LLC in Montclair, New Jersey as Technical Director and Principal Consultant. InformationGenesis provides global technical consulting services in reliability assurance and reliability testing for electronic hardware and telecommunication infrastructure equipment. During his career, he has published multiple technical papers on accelerated stress testing, electronics packaging and surface mount solder attachment reliability assurance, having presented his research at major industry conferences across the United States and in Europe. In addition, Dr. Kotlowitz served as a course leader for professional development training in accelerated stress testing and solder attachment reliability assurance at major companies and learning centers in the United States, Canada, Europe, Israel, Southeast Asia and China. He was an invited lecturer on solder interconnection reliability at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, and Georgia Institute of Technology, Packaging Research Center, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Interested in engineering from a formative age, Dr. Kotlowitz enjoyed assembling and tinkering with mechanical hardware as a child. Discovering his affinity for mechanics early on, he attended Brooklyn Technical High School in Brooklyn, New York, where he had the opportunity to learn about mechanical technology and complete projects that few students experienced. Moving on, he attended The City University of New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering in 1973, a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering in 1975 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering and Applied Mechanics in 1981. Dr. Kotlowitz attributes his professional success to several influential high school and university instructors, including Professor Brad Menkes, who inspired him greatly and became the role model for his later teaching style.

Dr. Kotlowitz is a long-time member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, International Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging Society, Surface Mount Technology Association and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. Dr. Kotlowitz has garnered multiple accolades and honors throughout his career. He was selected as a Tau Beta Pi Fellow and Research Corp. Barker Fellow in respectively 1974 and 1975, and received a Best Paper Award from the International Electronics Packaging Society Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1987. Additionally, he was featured in the 22nd edition of Who's Who in the East, which was published in 1988. Despite these achievements, he considers a milestone in his career to be when he helped institutionalize efficient accelerated stress testing during development and volume manufacturing of wireless telecommunication systems. As the lead strategist for these innovative test methods applied internally and across the global supply chain, Dr. Kotlowitz was broadly recognized within his companies and the electronics packaging community for his contributions to modern reliability assurance practices.
