At the inception of his career, Mr. Wanger gained valuable expertise as a deputy district attorney in Fresno, CA, from 1967 to 1969, as partner with Gallagher, Baker & Manock from 1969 to 1974, as senior partner with McCormick, Barstow, Sheppard, Wayte & Carruth from 1974 to 1991, and as a judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California from 1991 to 2011. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of becoming a district judge and co-founding the San Joaquin College of Law and the San Joaquin Valley Inns of Court. He served as Dean of the Law School, President, and Chair of the Board of Trustees.
A former student of the Colorado School of Mines, Mr. Wanger holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of California, Berkeley. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains fellowship with the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys and the California State Bar.
In light of his professional achievements, Mr. Wanger earned a U.S. Congressional Tribute, Civility Award through the American Board of Trial Advocates, an NAACP Image Award, Central California Legal Services Champion of Justice, and a Professionalism Award from the Federal Bar Association. In addition, he has been featured in such publications as Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Politics and Who's Who in American Law.
