With more than 40 years of practiced experience to her credit, Dr. Guckert has been serving as a home health nurse for Comfort Care Home Health since 2003, consultant with Holistic Health of Virginia Beach Consultant Services since 1997, correctional medical service supervisor and chronic care nurse with the Virginia Beach Correctional Center since 2003, weekend supervisor with the Virginia Beach Health Care and Rehabilitation Center since 2007, and also maintains a consulting position. Earlier in her career, she worked in various roles with St. Margaret's Memorial Hospital as a staff nurse, Personal Touch Home Care as a visiting nurse, Sentara Home Health as a liaison, Medical Staff Services, Inc., as the director of nursing, director of nursing education with the Virginia Beach, Newport News and Richmond campuses of Medical Careers Institute, UBCC, and Tender Loving Care as a home health nurse, among many other roles. Though her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of treating people from all walks of life.
An expert in her field, Dr. Guckert holds a Licensed Practical Nurse degree, Associate of Science in nursing, Bachelor of Science in nursing, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in holistic medicine, all from Clayton State University. With her expansive array of knowledge at her disposal, she wrote "The Guckert's of Allegheny County," which was published in 2016, and has also authored materials on nutritional needs for the National Bicycle League. In her spare time, she also contributes to her community through the Boy Scouts of Pittsburgh, the Campfire Girls, the Special Olympics and Chesapeake Indigent Care Clinic.
For her outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Guckert was featured in numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in American Nursing and Who's Who of American Women. In the coming years, Dr. Guckert intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career.
