Prior to obtaining his current role, he was a managing director and head of Midwest investment banking at Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc., from 2001 to 2005 and managing director and co-founder and head of JP Morgan's Chicago office from 1992 to 2000. Earlier in his career, he held a number of positions with the First Boston Corporation, becoming a managing director in 1978, head of Midwest investment banking from 1982 to 1992, and associate, assistant vice president and vice president from 1967 to 1976. During his tenure, he also served as a director of First Boston Europe Ltd. in London, England, from 1976 to 1978.
Mr. Lyon began his career as a student at Princeton University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1965. He then attended the University of Virginia, earning a Master of Business Administration in 1967.
A respected voice in the industry, Mr. Lyon has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. He is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the Chicago Club, the Onwentsia Club, where he served on the board of governors and as president, and as president of the Old Elm Club, the Chicago Commonwealth Club and the Commercial Club of Chicago. An advisory director for the Chicago-Northwest Indiana region of Teach for America, he is also a trustee of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, as well as a former trustee and vice chair of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Woodberry Forest School.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lyon has been recognized for his achievements. He has received many awards and accolades for his contributions and accomplishments. He has also been featured in numerous honors publications, including the 61st and 62nd editions of Who's Who in America and the 27th edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
