For 21 years, she and DAPCO have offered a number of innovative programs and services to the community, including entrepreneurial coaching to women, youth programs, financial literacy and life enhancement workshops to families, essential baby items distribution, transitional living and much more. Additionally, Ms. Parker has several entrepreneurial ventures and was chosen as one of Michigan's Top 25 Women in Business by NAWBO in 1996, conducts a monthly inspirational podcast program for women, and maintains a weekly prayer network.
Prior to establishing her business, Ms. Parker was active in her community as a mentor to young women at risk, she obtained certifications in child evangelism, and her recent notable certifications as a recovery coach and in spiritual recovery, human trafficking. Her community outreach efforts include serving on several boards, networking and building alliances with partner agencies that help her better serve her constituents. She is a member with Ambassador for Christ Global and a long standing member of her church, the International Gospel Center as an ordained minister.
For her outstanding accomplishments and innovative programs and services, Ms. Parker has been presented with awards, plaques and awarded several grants to support her work in the community, such as City of Detroit Neighborhood Opportunity Fund and the Detroit Empowerment Zone Development Corporation, United Way of Washtenaw County, Chemical Bank, Comerica Bank, PNC Bank, White Castle and Bank of Ann Arbor.
