For nearly 40 years, Mr. Etter had excelled in the legal and financial industries. At the beginning of his career, he gained valuable expertise as a national trust examiner for the U.S. Treasury Department in Dallas, Texas. Following this appointment, he found success with Southern National Bank of Houston as vice president and trust officer, a position he also held with the U.S. National Bank of Galveston.
Over the years, Mr. Etter worked in a variety of fields, serving as a pro-bono coordinator for the Heart of Texas Legal Services, a sales associate for Sears Roebuck & Company, and as a rancher. One of the highlights of his career was working with the United Way in Galveston, Texas because of the difference he made as the chairman of the budget allocations committee. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he is affiliated with the Galveston Estate Planning Council and the Texas Bar Association. During his spare time, Mr. Etter has dedicated his efforts to the Galveston Historical Foundation and the Mental Health Association.
An expert in his field, Mr. Etter holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Baylor University, as well as a Master's degree in trust administration from Northwestern University. Utilizing his many experiences, he authored "Texas Law, A Pattern for the Uniform Probate Code." Looking toward the future, Mr. Etter intends to continue enjoying his retirement.
