Linda Weber Kiousis was given a special mention at the Cleveland Museum of Art in recognition of her artistic prowess in watercolor paint.
PARMA, OH, March 21, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Linda Weber Kiousis with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Kiousis celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Inspired by her parents, who were both craftsmen and artists, Ms. Kiousis believes she inherited her predilection for hard work from them. Receiving a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland in 1961 and 1962, respectively, she went on to earn a diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1962. After obtaining her degrees, she served as the director of the United Cerebral Palsy Association Workshop in Cleveland, from 1963 to 1968. Subsequently, she acted as an art teacher for the Parma City School District in Ohio from 1969 to 1971. During this time, she also held the role of professional designer for American Greetings from 1968 to 1969 and again from 1971 to 1975. Later on in her career, Ms. Kiousis was a freelance artist in Ohio and Rhode Island.
A frequent presenter in the field, Ms. Kiousis has exhibited her watercolor paintings in several solo and group shows. Displayed at the Apple Gallery, the Butler Institute of American Art, the Chelsea Galleries and the Glass Growers Gallery between 1987 and 1991, she was also featured at the Sandusky Cultural Center and the Mansfield Art Center in 1992. Represented in permanent collections as well, her work can be found at Binney & Smith Inc., the University of Missouri in Columbia, Children's Oncology Services of Northeastern Ohio Inc., the Ronald McDonald House and the Farmington Museum.
A self-described luddite, Ms. Kiousis relies primarily on word of mouth to distribute and advertise her art. Although she considers watercolors a difficult medium to work in, it is her favorite and most of her painting is in watercolor. Having been painting and making art her entire life, Ms. Kiousis finds the act of creating art, no matter what the medium, to be very therapeutic, especially as she has gotten older.
Ms. Kiousis is a longtime member of numerous societies, including the Midwest Watercolor Society, the Texas Watercolor Society, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and the Ohio Watercolor Society. She cites the highlight of her career to be when Dr. Sherman Lee gave her a special mention at the Cleveland Museum of Art in recognition of her artistic prowess in watercolor paint. In light of her accomplishments, Ms. Kiousis was featured in the 19th edition of Who's Who of American Women.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Ms. Kiousis has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
