Richard Joseph Brzozowski was the recipient of the High Winds Medal from the American Watercolor Society.

A veteran of the United States Army who served from 1962 to 1964, Mr. Brzozowski utilized the G.I. Bill to attend the Paier College of Art for artistic pursuits. Initially intending on pursuing interior design for his full-time professional pursuits, he instead began completing drawing and painting courses. Encouraged by a professor continue his efforts in the field of art, he began his career as a staff artist at Miller Johnson Company in Meriden, CT, from 1959 to 1980. Remaining with the prominent company, Mr. Brzozowski excelled to the position of creative director, finding success in that role from 1980 until his retirement from the industry in 1990.
In an effort to remain aware of developments within the world of art, Mr. Brzozowski maintains affiliation with several organizations, including the American Watercolor Society, where he has served as the second vice president since 1989 and was appointed to the board of directors from 1988 to 1989. Likewise, he was previously active on the board of directors for the Connecticut Watercolor Society and the National Society for Painters in Casein and Acrylics. Engaged in fine arts during his spare time, Mr. Brzozowski is associated with the Allied Artists of New York.
As a testament to his success, Mr. Brzozowski has accrued numerous accolades and honors. The recipient of the High Winds Medal from the American Watercolor Society, an achievement which he cites as a career highlight, he was also presented with over 290 national and local awards since 1958. Additionally, he accepted a Gold Medal from the Kuicker Society of New York, a Gold Medal from the National Society for Painters in Casein and Acrylics, and a Dolphin fellowship. Married with two children, Mr. Brzozowski has been selected for inclusion in the 60th and 63rd editions of Who's Who in America, as well as the 23rd edition of Who's Who in the East.
