Dr. I Ma has been a senior electronics engineer for the KeyW Corp. since 2016. Excelling in his field for over four decades, he previously served as a senior electronics engineer for SFA Inc. from 2004 to 2016. Earlier in his career, he also worked as a research physicist and electronics engineer for the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C., from 1985 to 2004 and as a research physicist for Sachs/Freeman Associates Inc. in Bowie, Maryland, from 1981 to 1985. Dr. I Ma began his career as a teaching assistant at the University of Maryland in College Park from 1977 to 1981.
Over the course of his career, Dr. I Ma has contributed much to his field. Notable for conducting radiation testing on various new 12 inch wafers for hardening evaluation, as well as nanotube fabrication and evaluation, he holds a patent for planar detector-amplifier arrays and detector-amplifier circuit channels. Dr. I Ma has also contributed multiple articles to various peer reviewed journals in his area of expertise.
Outside of his career in engineering, Dr. I Ma has been employed as a financial advisor with Acacia Financial Advisors LLC since 2004 and holds both Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. Many years prior, he served as a second lieutenant and reserve political warfare officer with the Army Special Force in Taiwan, China from 1975 to 1977. Additionally, he is a longtime member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and the Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society of the Republic of China. Dr. I Ma is also active as a bass part leader with the HuaXia Chorus and the Christian Oratorio Society.
Deciding to follow in his father's footsteps and study physics and engineering because his father was a nuclearengineer, Dr. I Ma completed a Bachelor of Science in physics at Tunghai University in Tiachung, Taiwan, in 1975. Following this accomplishment, he received a grant to study in the United States where he earned a Master of Science in physics at the University of Maryland in 1981. Dr. I Ma concluded his academic efforts at the University of Maryland with a Doctor of Philosophy in electrical engineering in 1991.
Born in Taipei, China, Dr. I Ma later married his wife, Josephine Y. Ma, and had one son. Looking to his future, he hopes to enjoy many more years with his family and gets to spend time with his grandchildren. In his spare time, he loves to sing, study the Bible and collect stamps. In light of all his accomplishments, Dr. I Ma was previously featured in the second edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
