ROYAL OAK, MD, March 29, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Frederick Humphrey with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Humphrey celebrates many years of experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Humphrey is currently retired for the second time and lives with his wife of 55 years in Royal Oak on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, about three miles from St. Michael's. He and his wife, Barbara, have two sons. Both are academy graduates and have since pursued military careers, one in the Air Force and one in the Army.
Dr. Humphrey is a 1966 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing a Rotating Internship at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital he entered Psychiatry Residency Training at the Philadelphia Mental Health Clinic followed by Child Psychiatry Fellowship Training at Eastern State School and Hospital, both under AOA auspices. Wanting a career in Academic Medicine at a time when none of the osteopathic medical schools had full time clinical faculty, he repeated his residency training in Child Psychiatry at Hahnemann Medical School and Hospital followed by General Psychiatry Residency training at Penn State's Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Certified by both the AOA and the ABMS in General and Child Psychiatry, Dr. Humphrey has served as an examiner for all four boards. He is also a graduate of the Institute of the Philadelphia Association for Psychoanalysis.
Dr. Humphrey began his career in academic medicine at Penn State University College of Medicine at the Hershey Medical Center where he was Chief of Child Psychiatry and vice chairman of the Department of Psychiatry. In 1986, he became Dean of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ. During his years as Dean he served as Chairman of AACOM's Board of Governors and Chairman of the AOA Bureau of Professional Education, which at the time was the accrediting body for the Osteopathic Medical Schools, Residency Programs and CME. After 16 years as Dean, he returned to the full time faculty until 2007 and then worked part time through 2008. After he retired, Governor Christie split the university in two. Dr. Humphrey's school is now the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
In 2009, he accepted a full time position at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and worked there until its closure in September of 2011. Prior to his work as an Army Civilian at Walter Reed, Dr. Humphrey was a Colonel in the United States Army Reserves where he served as the Reserve Psychiatry Consultant to the Army Surgeon General. He is a veteran of the first Gulf War.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Frederick Humphrey has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
