Backed by nearly five decades of professional excellence in the telecommunications, computing and academic industries, Dr. Franta served as treasurer of ADC Telecommunications from 1985 to 1987, as an arbitrator of The American Arbitration Association, and as vice president and senior vice president of Network Systems Corporation from 1987 to 1995. At the inception of his career, he joined the University of Minnesota as an assistant professor of computer science, associate professor and full professor between 1970 and 1984.
Over the years, Dr. Franta also gained valuable expertise in education, computing and telecommunications with the Microelectronic and Information Science Center as co-director and associate director, as well as the First Midwest Capital Corporation as a member of the technology advisory committee and then vice president and president, 1982 to 1985.
A member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Dr. Franta holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in mathematics and a Doctor of Philosophy in computer science from the University of Minnesota. In an effort to remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the Association of Computing Machinery. Utilizing his considerable knowledge, he authored "The Process View of Simulation" and co-authored "Local Networks: Motivation, Technology, Performance" and "Formal Methods of Program Verification and Specification."
In light of his excellence in the field, Dr. Franta earned features in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. In the near future, Dr. Franta intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career.
