BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ, April 05, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's most authoritative publisher of biographical profiles of prominent Americans, has honored Louis V. As a notable listee, Mr. Priebe exemplifies a distinguished 54-year career of commendable professional accomplishments. He is recognized for consequential achievements and influential leadership and for multiple substantive contributions and prominent successes he has accrued during his lifetime. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected using exacting criteria for authoritative reference value. Factors such as significant attainments, innovative contributions, inspirational teambuilding, respected recognition and enduring value in a career field and in civic service are assiduously analyzed during its exacting selection process of rigorous scrutiny.

As an undergraduate, he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, serving as its alumni relations secretary. Almost 27 years later, he was honored in 1991 as a Distinguished Alumnus of OU's Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Throughout his exceptional career, Mr. Priebe has earned substantive recognition for his prominent professional accomplishments, including inclusion in Who's Who in the South and Southwest since 1984. His Personal Credo of Professional Belief provided "a working definition of PR and its role in society" and "thought-provoking ideals for today's communicator," reported the August 25, 1975 Practical Public Relations newsletter. In this ten-tenet declaration of his seminal principles, he concludes that "continuing pursuit of excellence in attaining legitimate public relations goals constitutes a meaningful, rewarding career, to which I will devote the full measure of my God-given talents and energies."

Key to his successes has been "perceptive analysis, visionary anticipation and aspirational planning." He created a pragmatic worksheet to develop effective strategies for intentional actions based upon (1) vision & purpose, (2) goals & objectives, (3) principal messages, (4) strategies for effective action, (5) target audience categories, (6) key organizations of constituencies, (7) optional activities & programs, (8) priority communications media, (9) actions-timetable-costs, and (10) evaluation criteria and desired results which "exceed expectations for success."

He was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2002 for a "career that has included arranging meetings with the President in the Oval Office and Cabinet Room of the White House, client addresses to the National Press Club and publicity placements in major newspapers and on broadcast networks and wire services." On the occasion of his induction, Washington Mayor Anthony Williams affirmed that "He is eminently deserving of such recognition for his significant professional attainments during his 38-year public relations career, his leadership in programs which have substantially benefitted hundreds of people, his service in civic, cultural and religious affairs which have enriched the lives of many people, and his constructive and innovative advocacy to bring diverse cultures together." As the Insurance Information Institute's New Orleans district manager, he spearheaded regional communications efforts which earned PRSA's coveted 1969 Silver Anvil Award for "outstanding public relations performance" following Hurricane Camille.

Mr. Priebe has been an active member of the National Press Club since joining "The World's Leading Professional Organization for Journalists" in 1971, serving on its Board of Directors 2004-08 and on several key committees before then. He chaired its House and Bar Committee 2008-15. In 2011, he was presented the Berny Krug Award as that year's outstanding National Press Club volunteer contributor.

Mr, Priebe created the Will Rogers Chili Humanitarian Award in 1984 as a fundraiser for the James S. Brady Presidential Foundation, raising $250,000 over five years for President Ronald Reagan's severely wounded, partially paralyzed and wheelchair confined press secretary. Its five festive "black tie and boots" dinners honored Mr. Brady, racecar driver and auto designer Carroll Shelby, Speaker of the U. S. House of Representatives Jim Wright, Defense Secretary Dick Cheney, Oklahoma Governor George Nigh and U. S. Senator John McCain. President George H. W. Bush attended the 1989 gala to help pay tribute to Brady's heroism. Priebe's service to his good friend also included chairing Jim Brady's Calling on America Campaign for the National Organization on Disability promoting awareness of the need for improved accommodations for handicapped people.

Born in Enid, Oklahoma on November 11, 1941, Mr. Priebe earned the Eagle Scout and God and Country awards as a Boy Scout there. He won five AAU state swimming championships in 1956. Much later, in the Nation's Capital, he served as president of the Oklahoma State Society of Washington, D.C. in 1981, previously chairing several memorable events benefitting his beloved "Sooner State." On January 19, 2001, Governor Frank Keating honored him with an official commendation "in recognition of your significant service in Washington, D. C. to the State of Oklahoma during the past quarter century with great gratitude for your loyalty, dedication and effectiveness." His hometown Enid High School bestowed its Pride of the Plainsmen Award upon him in 2012 for "bringing favorable attention to your field of endeavor, the community and the school," joining other notable honorees including a Medal of Honor recipient, U.S. Congressman, astronaut, Pulitzer Prize winners, prominent educators, physicians and athletes and other accomplished alumni. He is best remembered there for his 1984 commencement address to EHS' graduating seniors which challenged them to be worthy of their Cherokee Strip pioneer heritage: "They made many, many sacrifices to give us what we enjoy today. Certainly we owe those noble people our abiding gratitude. But, more importantly, if we are to be worthy heirs, we owe their legacy a strong sense of obligation to use wisely what they built for us; to accept it and to commit to work as hard as they did to improve upon our precious inheritance."

Mr. Priebe has been married to the former Florence Ann McClain of Paris, Texas since June 25, 1966. They have two children, Allison Louise Brooks, 42, of Alexandra, VA and Louis Bradley, 40, of Scottsdale, AZ, and six grandchildren: Cynthia McClain Brooks and Emma Bethel, Krista Ruth, Preston Bradley, Felicity Ann and Aaron Daniel Priebe. On the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2016, they renewed their marriage vows at the Alamo with "compassion, commitment and courage" for reflection on their past life together and dedication for their future's next 50 years or "until death parts us." Since April, 2017, they have lived retired in Phoenix, AZ where they are active in volunteer religious, civic and cultural affairs service.
