Board certified in clinical pharmacology and internal medicine, Dr. Weinshilboum holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas in Kansas City. In order to stay abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, the American Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the American Association of Physicians, and the American Society for Clinical Investigation. Due to his professional accomplishments, he earned a Burroughs-Wellcome Scholarship and features in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare. He has also been recognized with an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of New England in Maine and an honorary Doctor of Science from the University of Kansas.
