In 1970, Dr. Sandén earned a Master of Science from the Lund Institute of Technology, going on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy from the Royal Institute of Technology in 1978. After working as an analyst and programmer at Sperry Univac from 1971 to 1978, he went on to work as a consultant at Statkonsult from 1978 to 1980 and a project manager for Philips until 1986. A valuable educator, Dr. Sandén taught software engineering at such institutions as Wang Institute, George Mason University and Colorado Technical University before his retirement in 2013.
While attending school, Dr. Sandén developed an interest in programming that developed with his education. Demonstrating professional expertise, he wrote "Systems Programming with JSP" in 1985, "Software Systems Construction with Examples in Ada" in 1994, and "Design of Multithreaded Software: The Entity-Life Modeling Approach" in 2011. He has also contributed several articles to journals in his field, exhibiting his considerable knowledgeability.
Owing to his considerable professional expertise and academic enthusiasm, Dr. Sandén was notably named Distinguished Faculty of the Year at Colorado Technical University, where he continues to teach as an adjunct. Interested in software engineering developments, he maintains memberships with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Association of Computing Machinery. Dr. Sandén has been honored in such publications as Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
