At the inception of her career, she served as a welfare worker in Fort Lauderdale, FL, in 1967. From there, she became a guidance counselor for Broward County Public Schools from 1968-1970. Over the years, she gained valuable expertise in education with Florida Atlantic University where she was an adjunct professor from 1971-1974 before entering real estate with Blackwell Realty as a real estate associate from 1976-1977. She founded Karen Moraitis Realty, Inc. as a broker and president from 1978 until her retirement in 2008. In a career filled with highlights, she is especially proud of obtaining her graduate degrees and her entering the real estate industry.
A certified real estate broker, Ms. Moraitis holds a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Florida, and a Masters of Education and Education Specialist degrees from Florida Atlantic University where she earned State and Federal Scholarships for graduate work.
To remain abreast of changes in the field of real estate, she maintained affiliation with the Florida and National Associations of Realtors and the Fort Lauderdale Board of Realtors.
In her spare time, she also contributed her time and resources to her community through the President's Council of the University of Florida and as a scholarship partner with Gator Boosters as well as having served as president of various parent-teacher associations and as an officer of the Brian Piccolo Chapter of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame, Inc. Additionally, she has served on the Broward County Zoning Board, the Winter Cotillion Board and several Homeowner's Boards.
Her biography is also featured in Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who of American Women.
