Her passion for encouraging students to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), particularly women and minorities, culminated in the Pfizer-Yale Student Mentoring program, which she co-founded in 2005 to provide female graduate students in STEM fields with role models across a broad range of science-related careers.
Dr. Pan has repeatedly utilized her scientific background for collaborative and multidisciplinary problem solving. One career highlight was being part of the small Pfizer team that was instrumental in launching WIPO Re:Search, an industry-led consortium that uses intellectual property and public-private partnerships to drive medical innovation in poor countries (https://www.wipo.int/research/en/). She is also proud of having played a key role in formulating and implementing Pfizer's policy on precision medicine and companion diagnostics at the vanguard of industry's transformation in its approach to developing new medicines.
