Supported by 33 years of professional excellence in religious services, Ms. Letzig most recently served as a consultant of current and deferred giving at the New York City office of the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church from 1995 until her retirement in 2008. Commencing her career in 1950, she served as a member of the education staff in United Methodist Churches in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas until 1961. During 1961 and 1962, she served in London, England, as part of the International Deaconess Exchange Program. Upon her return, she began her service as a staff executive of the National Division of the General Board of Global Ministries where she served for 33 years. Among her primary endeavors, Ms. Letzig was a coordinator of the Mission Personnel Support Services from 1984 to 1988 and the executive secretary of the Deaconess Program Office from 1989 to 1995.
Civically involved as well, Ms. Letzig sat on the board of directors of multiple organizations, including Global Health Action in Atlanta and the Christian Medical College, Vellore, in New York City. She also sat on the United States committee for the International Council on Social Welfare in Washington, D.C., and has been active with the National Interfaith Coalition on Aging in Athens, Georgia, and Washington, D.C., since 1972. Ms. Letzig previously served as president of the coalition from 1981 to 1985.
To prepare for her illustrious career, Ms. Letzig pursued formal education at the Scarritt College for Christian Workers in Nashville, Tennessee, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1950 and Master of Arts in 1968. A contributor of myriad articles to professional journals, she maintains membership with the League of Women Voters, the American Association of University Women, the Older Women's League and the National Council for Social Welfare. In light of all her accomplishments, Ms. Letzig has previously been featured in Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
