Deborah Offenhauser was named a winner of Best Contemporary Instrumental Album by the Clouzine International Music Awards in the spring of 2019.

A world-renowned musician, Ms. Offenhauser has served as the department head of the high school piano program at the Arizona School for the Arts in Phoenix. She also taught Music Business courses at Phoenix College and was an adjunct lecturer at the University of Michigan-Flint. She enjoys passing on her knowledge to her students. Often, her students require unique approaches to learning, including playing along to CDs and learning from songs that Ms. Offenhauser would personally compose for them.
Demonstrating impressive skill, Ms. Offenhauser's music has been featured in numerous shows, including ABC's "Desperate Housewives," CBS's "Madam Secretary" and "The Big Bang Theory," as well as on The Weather Channel. She has also toured with such respected musicians as The Four Lads, The Moody Blues and the Coasters. Moreover, she has served as a pianist for Broadway tours of such productions as "Grease," "West Side Story," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Mamma Mia."
She recalls having performance anxiety as a child. Any time people requested that she play at parties, Ms. Offenhauser would play in a separate room and ask that they talk while she played. As an adult, having people talk over her performances in hotels and resorts does not bother her. She remembers someone approaching her to shake her hand while she was playing one day during teatime at the Ritz. She was told later that it was Muhammad Ali. She had been so focused on continuing her Mozart piece with one hand that she had not recognized him. He returned to listen to her play piano the next day.
Ms. Offenhauser began playing piano at an early age. When she was 6 years old, she began taking lessons, but switched to a different teacher one year later. Her teacher was adamant that she only play the classics. She enjoyed all of the music her teacher had her playing, but she recalls disobeying her teacher's request and playing all types of music. Her father loved listening to ragtime and movie themes and would often offer to do her chores if she would play music from those genres. Her CD called "Dizzy Fingers" is dedicated to her father and the eclectic music he encouraged her to play.
The first album Ms. Offenhauser ever released, titled "Nashville Bound," was a country record. When the guitarist "Little" Jimmy Dempsey heard her music, he told her that if she ever wanted to make a country record, he would produce it for her. Excited about the thought of this, she recorded 10 songs in the Everly Brothers studio. Notably, she went on to create connections with a number of radio stations both nationally as well as internationally.
Ms. Offenhauser's CD titled "Soundscapes" was featured in the Top 10 on Zone Music Reporter's Airplay Chart and #1 on the One World Music Airplay Chart. It was also named one of the Top 3 Best Contemporary Instrumental Album by NewAgeCD.com in 2018, qualified as Album of the Year at the Zone Music Reporters 2018 Awards and won the Silver 2018 Global Music Award. Ms. Offenhauser's album has received positive reviews from Grammy winner Ben Gundersheimer and Grammy producer Jim Linahon, among others.
Recognized as the Best New Age Album, "Soundscapes" can currently be heard on many airlines, including Condor Air/ Thomas Cook, Travel Service and Kenya Air. Notably, her "Soundscapes" nomination led to a Berlin Philharmonic Hall concert on October 3, 2018 courtesy of the Enlightened Piano Radio competition. Most recently, Ms. Offenhauser was named a winner of Best Contemporary Instrumental Album by the Clouzine International Music Awards in the spring of 2019.
Ms. Offenhauser was honored in the 22nd and 23rd editions of Who's Who of American Women in light of her exceptional accomplishments. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. Looking to the future, she concentrates now on composing film music.
