Retiring as an engineering manager after 45 years of experience, Mr. Ninan most recently excelled as a manager of quality and reliability at Intel Corporation between 1998 and 2009. He served in the same capacity for Lucent Technologies in Bangalore, India between 1989 and 1998. Likewise, Mr. Ninan held appointments with several other organizations during his tenure, including with IBM, the Florida Power and Light Company and Fairchild Semiconductors.
Boasting extensive expertise in engineering, Mr. Ninan has specifically studied mechanical and industrial engineering with a focus on manufacturing and quality assurance. Although now retired, he remains active with on the architectural and design review committee. A senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, Mr. Ninan also enjoys helping the community service district where he lives as much as possible.
During his career, Mr. Ninan has assisted numerous organizations in achieving ISO 9001 certifications, as well as the CMMI certifications granted by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), and also with assessments for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA).
Earning a diploma at the Bishop Cotton Boys School in Bangalore, India in 1961, Mr. Ninan obtained Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology in Banaras, India in 1967. Relocating to the United States in 1970, he concluded his studies with a Master of Science in industrial engineering at Montana State University in 1972. While pursuing his Master's degree, Mr. Ninan began his career a graduate research assistant in the department of industrial engineering at Montana State University.
