Dr. Keith G. Calkins has been a member of the contingent faculty of Ferris State University since 2011 and consultant for XDX since 1981.

With more than 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Calkins has been a member of the contingent faculty of Ferris State University since 2011 and consultant for XDX since 1981. He has served Sherman township in various roles such as ZBA chair, election official, and sexton. From 1978 until 1993 he provided technical support at Andrews University finishing as assistant director for such. From 1993 until 2011 he taught various math, computer, education, and science classes there finishing as associate professor of mathematics and science.
Dr. Calkins left the farm in Tustin and became a student at Andrews University in Berrien Springs. There he obtained a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 1981, a Master of Science in computer information science in 1982, a Bachelor of Science with honors in physics in 1988, a Master of Science in mathematics and physical science in 1991, and a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2002. From the University of Notre Dame he completed a Master of Science in 1996 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 2005, both in physics. His work at Andrews continued during his studies and work at Notre Dame.
A respected voice in his areas of interest, Dr. Calkins has been an active leader in his community. He is a member of the National Speleological Society, the American Physical Society, and the American Mathematics Society. He has also been affiliated with the Sons of the American Revolution, the TeX Users Group, Sigma Xi, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Pi Sigma, and Pi Mu Epsilon.
Throughout his career Dr. Calkins has been recognized for his contributions. He has received numerous awards and accolades for his achievements. He has also been featured in numerous honors publications, including Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the Media and Communication, and Who's Who in the Midwest.
