CONCORD, MA, April 17, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Beverly D. Heinle with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Heinle celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With more than five decades of professional experience, Ms. Heinle currently works as a freelance editor in Concord, MA. She always had a love of books, which led to her interest in publishing. After securing a Master of Arts from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, in 1966, she began her career as an editorial secretary with Ginn & Company in Boston, MA. She further progressed to an assistant to the editor-in-chief for Blaisdell Publishing in Waltham, MA, in 1967.
Ms. Heinle then became the director of distribution with the Center for Curriculum Development in Audio-Visual Language Teaching in Philadelphia, PA, from 1967 to 1972, starting what would become her lifelong interest in foreign language. Continuing her career, Ms. Heinle found success as the editor-in-chief and director of advertising and promotion with F.W. Faxon Company in Dedham, MA, from 1973 to 1982 and the president of H&H Advertising in Concord between 1983 and 1991. Working with her husband Charles, and Dr. Paul Pimsleur, Ms. Heinle helped found Pimsleur Language Programs. In her more than 27-year tenure with Pimsleur (20 with Simon & Schuster), Beverly's attention to detail and guiding hand have helped millions of people learn languages from Arabic to Vietnamese.
Her thoughtful, well-informed management of all aspects of the course development process has broadened and enhanced the product line immeasurably. She has influenced and trained scores of writers and editors, and as the market transitioned from cassettes to CDs, to MP3s to software, Beverly guided the Pimsleur team to adapt with the times. While vastly expanding product offering, Beverly remained committed to maintaining Pimsleur's reputation as the most effective way to speak and understand another language.
Beverly also helped spearhead a number of valuable Pimsleur partnerships. With her cross-cultural skills she built a long-term relationship with a Japanese distributor, developing a series of Pimsleur courses for Japanese speakers. She was instrumental in creating Speak Spanish with Dora & Diego, Pimsleur's Spanish course for children. She brought together the USO and The Boston Foundation to create and distribute free Dari and Pashto courses to members of the U.S. military.
Throughout her tenure as Executive Editor and Editor-in-Chief, Beverly's unflappable nature and confident expertise allowed the Pimsleur team to navigate every challenge. Her contributions, large and small, are part of the fabric of Pimsleur.
Outside of her professional interests, Ms. Heinle enjoys attending the opera, reading science fiction and practicing yoga.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Ms. Heinle has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
